Cincinnati, OH - The U.S. Marshals’ Southern Ohio Fugitive
Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office
arrested fugitive Nicholas Taylor on May 16, 2016 on an outstanding arrest
warrant from Sevier County, Tennessee.
Taylor, 68, was wanted by the Tennessee Bureau of
Investigation (TBI) on a charge of Murder. Taylor allegedly shot a female
victim, identified as Susan Kokenge in a residence in Seymour, Tennessee on
June 24, 2014. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals’
Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force received information Taylor was in the
Hamilton, Ohio area. SOFAST and the Butler County Sheriff’s Office were
contacted and quickly located Taylor in the 100 Block of Douglas Lane,
Hamilton, Ohio and arrested him on the outstanding charge.
Taylor is currently in the custody of the Butler County
Sheriff's Office and will soon be extradited back to Tennessee.
Cincinnati’s SOFAST is a fugitive focused, U.S. Marshals
Service-led task force consisting of local, state, and federal authorities
including the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Criminal
Investigation, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Colerain Township Police
Department, Newtown Police Department, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office,
Harrison Police Department, and the St. Bernard Police Department.
U.S. Marshals are the nation’s primary fugitive hunting
organization and capture more federal fugitives each year than all other law
enforcement agencies combined.
