Carrollton, TX - Donovan Mark Herisse, a fugitive wanted for
violently beating and raping a woman he met on the online dating website,
“Plenty of Fish,” was arrested on May 24 in Piedmont, South Carolina by a team
of law enforcement officers led by the U.S. Marshals.
On April 15, 2016, the Carrollton Police Department
encountered a female victim who had suffered multiple injuries including a
fractured jaw, fractured orbital bone and multiple lacerations to her face and
mouth that required stitches. The victim had also been raped by a man she
claims to have met on an online dating website. On April 19, 2016, an arrest
warrant was issued for Herisse and the case was referred to the U.S Marshals
led Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force.
After an extensive investigation, information was developed
that Herisse had fled Texas and was in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Members of
the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force were able to discover that Herisse
was employed as a truck driver and was heading toward the Greenville, South
Carolina area. On May 24, 2016, Herisse was arrested in Piedmont, South
Carolina by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Operation
Intercept. Herisse is currently awaiting extradition back to Texas.
The Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force includes
investigators with the U.S. Marshals Service, Plano Police Department,
Carrollton Police Department, Denton County Sheriff’s Office, Denton Police
Department, Flower Mound Police Department and the Collin County District Attorney’s
Office.
