Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin Pane announced
the arrest of Hydiea Banks, a 16-year old woman, on charges of attempted
criminal homicide.
Earlier today, Deputy U.S. Marshals and task force officers
arrested Banks after a brief altercation in the 400 block of West Philadelphia
Street in York. A firearm was recovered during Banks's arrest. Banks was turned
over to local authorities pending court proceedings.
York City Police Department responded to a shooting in the
300 block of Girard Ave in York on January 9, 2016. A warrant for Banks was
obtained by the York City Police Department charging her with criminal attempt
homicide.
United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The
coordination and cooperation demonstrated by law enforcement in this case has
directly led to a dangerous fugitive being taken off the streets. It’s my
sincere hope this arrest brings a measure of comfort to the victim’s family.”
The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with personnel
from the York City Police Department, York County Sheriff’s Office and the Pennsylvania
State Police.
