Mental Health Courts Publications Released

The Council of State Governments Justice Center has released the Handbook for Facilitators, a companion resource to Developing a Mental Health Court: An Interdisciplinary Curriculum. Developing a Mental Health Court is a free online curriculum for individuals or interdisciplinary groups interested in starting, improving or learning about mental health courts. The curriculum and the Handbook for Facilitators were developed with support from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and in partnership with the National Center for State Courts, National GAINS Center, National Judicial College and Center for Court Innovation. Visit https://www.bja.gov/ProgramDetails.aspx?Program_ID=68 to learn more about the Mental Health Courts Program, which funds projects that seek to mobilize communities to implement innovative, collaborative efforts that bring improvements to the way the needs of adult offenders with mental disabilities or illnesses are addressed.
