Bureau of Justice Assistance and International Association of Chiefs of Police Launch Program on Safeguarding Children of Arrested Parents

BJA and IACP have teamed up to develop the Safeguarding Children of Arrested Parents (CAP) model policy and training video. These resources will assist law enforcement agencies in developing measures to help safeguard children when a parent is arrested. Both the policy and training video will demonstrate how policy adoption and adaptation can protect the well-being of children while maintaining the integrity of the arrest.
BJA encourages members of both the law enforcement and child welfare service communities to view and share the policy and video with members of their respective fields. You can access the policy at https://www.bja.gov/ProgramDetails.aspx?Program_ID=119 and the video at https://n1.m.tt/a/yfzwwdvfq-oaouvmpo.html.
