On September 15, 2007, Bowdery and his co-defendant, Lawrence Harper, robbed and carjacked their victim in the parking lot of the Silver Spoon night club and restaurant, 6063 Mt. Moriah, absconding with several thousand dollars’ worth of jewelry and a 2006 Cadillac DTS. Bowdery also attempted to bribe the victim of the carjacking by offering the return of the jewelry taken during the robbery in exchange for the victim’s false testimony misidentifying Bowdery as the carjacker, and threatened another witness to falsely accept responsibility for possessing the firearm used during the commission of the robbery.
On February 22, 2011, Bowdery was convicted of five counts of a six-count indictment after a seven-day trial. Those charges include Bowdery being a felon in possession of a firearm, carjacking, aiding and abetting, obstruction of justice, witness tampering, and carrying and using a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. Harper was sentenced to 204 months’ incarceration in May of 2011 before Judge Anderson.
