The most recent theft took place on January 16, 2012, when the North Community Bank branch, located at 448 North Wells Street in Chicago was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money. During the bank robberies, the lone robber entered the bank and approached a teller with a handwritten note asking for cash. He has not shown any weapons or made any threats during the robberies.

Wells, Chicago, IL; December 20, 2011 theft from the North Community Bank branch, located at 2335 N. Clark, Chicago, IL; December 22, 2011 theft from the PNC Bank branch, located at 4440 N. The Wicker Park Bandit is described as a black/male, 20-30 years of age, 5’2”-5’7” tall, thin build, with black hair and brown eyes. He has been dubbed the Wicker Park Bandit as most of his robberies have been in and around the Wicker Park neighborhood in Chicago.
