At approximately 2:20 p.m. today, the suspect entered the First People’s Bank located at 7100 Kingston Pike in Knoxville; brandished a dark-colored, semi-automatic handgun; and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, approximately 35 to 45 years old, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, and weighing approximately 140 and 150 to pounds. The suspect was wearing a plain, black baseball hat; a black, zip-up style hoodie; blue jeans; and tennis shoes. The tennis shoes were possibly Nike brand, white background with dark-colored swoosh. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect left the scene on foot headed West on Kingston Pike.
A reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KPD at 865-215-7212. This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI, KPD, and KSCO, as part of the Safe Streets Task Force, and the KPD Major Crimes Unit.
