Last month, 33 members of criminal organizations based in the Hunts Point area of the Bronx were charged with conspiracy to distribute "crack" cocaine, powder cocaine, and heroin. On November 10, 2010 , federal, state, and local law enforcement officers arrested 24 defendants in the Bronx . Four defendants had been previously arrested and were in state custody. Five fugitives were originally being sought; one surrendered to police on the evening of November 10, another surrendered to the FBI on November 18.
The FBI is now seeking information into the whereabouts of the remaining three fugitives: Jose Vargas Santos, Jose Rodriguez, and an unknown Hispanic female suspect who may be named Josephina Nunez. These individuals are wanted for their alleged involvement in a drug conspiracy in which they are alleged to have distributed illegal narcotics, specifically heroin, crack, and cocaine, in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx, New York, specifically on Manida and Irvine Streets. Gangs in this area also allegedly trafficked in narcotics and firearms, and committed robberies to further their enterprise.
