Bangor, Maine: A
Bronx, New York man was sentenced today in federal court in Bangor for
distributing cocaine base (a/k/a crack cocaine) and heroin, U.S. Attorney
Halsey B. Frank announced.
U.S. District Judge Lance E. Walker sentenced Leanza Boney,
a/k/a “G,” 22, to 57 months in prison and three years of supervised release.
Boney pleaded guilty on October 3, 2019.
According to court records, on March 22, 2019, Boney
distributed crack and heroin to an undercover agent. At the time of the
offense, Boney was on state probation following his conviction for a 2018 drug
trafficking offense.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, the FBI, the U.S. Drug
Enforcement Administration, the Hancock and Washington County Sheriff’s Offices
and the Maine State Police investigated the case.
The prosecution is a result of the ongoing efforts by the
Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) Program, a partnership
between federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The OCDETF mission is to identify, investigate
and prosecute high-level members of drug trafficking enterprises, bringing
together the combined expertise and unique abilities of federal, state and
local law enforcement.
