Course: Regional Collaboration to Embrace, Engage, And Sustain Tribal Community Policing Partnerships


The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) and the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement announced a free training event on tribal community policing partnerships happening Dec. 10-11, 2019, in South Dakota; here’s the details:

          WHAT: The South Dakota Office of the Attorney General is hosting a two-day course titled, “Regional Collaboration to Embrace, Engage, And Sustain Tribal Community Policing Partnerships.” This course is designed to create, expand, and sustain community-policing initiatives across Indian country. The course provides initial awareness-level training to participants who serve as representatives for their community/region by exploring issues, problems, resources, and existing initiatives that are needed within their region.  

          WHEN: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 10-11, 2019

          WHERE: George S. Mickelson Criminal Justice Center, 1302 US-14, Pierre, SD 57501

          WHO: The target audience for this program are tribal and non-tribal participants representing a broad spectrum of tribal, federal, state, and local jurisdictions within a region.
