HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – A South Point, Ohio man who was caught
selling methamphetamine in Huntington last year was sentenced to 62 months in
federal prison, announced United States Attorney Mike Stuart. Jose Cisneros, 28, previously entered a
guilty plea to distributing methamphetamine.
Stuart commended the investigative efforts of the FBI Drug Task Force.
“We’re prosecuting record numbers of meth dealers and the
convictions are resulting in significant prison sentences,” said United States
Attorney Mike Stuart. “Meth dealers
should take heed.”
On October 25, 2018, an informant working at the direction
of the FBI contacted Cisneros to arrange a meth transaction. Cisneros subsequently met the informant at a
location in Huntington where he sold the informant one and a half ounces of
methamphetamine in exchange for $650.
Cisneros was arrested on November 6, 2018, in the 2900 block of 5th
Avenue in Huntington and agents seized additional meth that Cisneros intended
to distribute.
Assistant United States Attorney Joseph F. Adams handled the
prosecution. The sentence was imposed by
United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers.
