BUFFALO, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr.
announced today that Sterling Jones, 24, of Lockport, NY, who was convicted of
possession of child pornography, was sentenced to serve 36 months in federal
prison by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan P. Cantil, who handled the
case, stated that on March 31, 2017, the defendant possessed 295 videos and 11
images of child pornography. These videos and images were on the cellular
telephone and were stored by the defendant in his DropBox online storage account.
Over 600 images of child pornography were recovered from Jones’ cellular
telephone and some of the images included prepubescent minors and depictions of
violence.
Today’s sentencing is the result of an investigation by the
Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge
Gary Loeffert.
