Wilmington, DE - United States Marshal Michael McGowan
announced today the arrest of shooting suspect, Tevin Beatty, 26, of
Wilmington. Beatty was wanted by the Wilmington Police Department for several
charges stemming from an August shooting incident.
Beatty was charged with 2 counts of reckless endanger first
degree, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a
concealed deadly weapon, and other various charges related to an August 3, 2017
shooting in the 1100 block of Maryland Ave, Wilmington, DE.
The United States Marshals Service First State Fugitive Task
Force began investigating the whereabouts of Beatty shortly after the incident.
After several months of tracking down leads and tips, recent information
indicated that Beatty may have fled to Philadelphia, PA. An address in the 2200
block of N. 22nd St., Philadelphia, PA was developed.
On January 30, 2018, The First State Fugitive Task Force and
the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force from Philadelphia established
surveillance on the suspected location. Beatty was observed and subsequently
taken into custody after he attempted to flee from the rear of the residence.
Beatty was taken to Philadelphia Police Department for processing on his out of
state warrants and is pending extradition back to Delaware.
The USMS First State Fugitive Task Force is comprised of
Federal, State, and Local law enforcement agencies in an effort to locate and
apprehend fugitives wanted by or residing in the State of Delaware.
