A federal interagency working group that included medical, public health, law enforcement, fire/EMS and occupational and safety and health developed the recommendations, which address:
- Actions first responders can take to protect themselves from exposure.
- Actions first responders can take when exposure occurs.
- Actions first responders can take when they observe signs of intoxication in themselves or other first responders.
