White House Releases Guidance on Fentanyl

The White House has released a one-page guidance document outlining evidence-based safety recommendations first responders can use when potentially encountering fentanyl.
A federal interagency working group that included medical, public health, law enforcement, fire/EMS and occupational and safety and health developed the recommendations, which address:
  • Actions first responders can take to protect themselves from exposure.
  • Actions first responders can take when exposure occurs.
  • Actions first responders can take when they observe signs of intoxication in themselves or other first responders.
You can download Fentanyl Safety Recommendations for First Responders from https://www.whitehouse.gov/ondcp/key-issues/fentanyl.
