Using Research to Move Policing Forward

In an article for the NIJ Journal, Capt. James Nolette of the Fayetteville (North Carolina) police department explores how research dictates what law enforcement officers do, whether they realize it or not. It could be as simple as how effective it is for police officers to carry a tourniquet on their duty belts or as high profile as storing data from body-worn cameras. Nolette discusses how his department is using research to move policing forward.  To read this article go to: http://nij.gov/journals/276/pages/iacp.aspx.  To read the full NIJ Journal, Issue 276 go to: https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/249218.pdf.
