Washington – The U.S. Marshals are selling six pieces of
jewelry that formerly belonged to Bernard and Ruth Madoff in an online auction
at www.txauction.com.
The auction for the six pieces, a diamond tennis bracelet,
gold money clip, antique necklace and brooch, and two Patek Philippe watches,
runs through Feb. 16.
The pieces were discovered in 2014 and ordered to be sold by
the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York last month.
The Marshals have sold thousands of Madoff assets, including
real property, boats, vehicles, jewelry and household items. Net proceeds from
the sale will be made available to the court for restitution to the victims in
this case.
