Sioux Falls, SD – A fugitive wanted on several felony
warrants stemming from an Aggravated Assault and Distribution of Narcotics has
been arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals First State Fugitive Task Force
in Newark, Delaware.
Albert Javers was being sought by the Sioux Falls Area Joint
Fugitive Task Force on several felony warrants issued in Minnehaha County,
South Dakota. Javers’ extensive criminal history and the seriousness of the
current charges landed Javers a spot on the Minnehaha County Most Wanted list.
During the course of the investigation, investigators developed credible
information that indicated Javers fled South Dakota to the State of Delaware.
Investigators sent this information to the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in
Delaware. On Thursday November 6, 2014 Javers was arrested at the residence of
a known associate without incident.
Javers is currently being held in the Howard R. Young
Correctional Institution in Wilmington, Delaware. Javers made his initial
appearance yesterday and has indicated that he wants to fight his extradition
back to South Dakota. Javers is being held as a Fugitive from Justice and his
bond was set at $5,000 cash.
