Sioux Falls Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in Delaware



Sioux Falls, SD – A fugitive wanted on several felony warrants stemming from an Aggravated Assault and Distribution of Narcotics has been arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals First State Fugitive Task Force in Newark, Delaware.

Albert Javers was being sought by the Sioux Falls Area Joint Fugitive Task Force on several felony warrants issued in Minnehaha County, South Dakota. Javers’ extensive criminal history and the seriousness of the current charges landed Javers a spot on the Minnehaha County Most Wanted list. During the course of the investigation, investigators developed credible information that indicated Javers fled South Dakota to the State of Delaware. Investigators sent this information to the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in Delaware. On Thursday November 6, 2014 Javers was arrested at the residence of a known associate without incident.

Javers is currently being held in the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington, Delaware. Javers made his initial appearance yesterday and has indicated that he wants to fight his extradition back to South Dakota. Javers is being held as a Fugitive from Justice and his bond was set at $5,000 cash.

Annually, investigations carried out by U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task forces result in the apprehension of approximately 34,000 federal fugitives. These task forces are comprised of local, state and federal agencies. The Sioux Falls Area Joint Fugitive Task Force is comprised of members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations
