Alleged Child Abuse Suspect Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Lexington, North Carolina



Lexington, NC – This morning at 10:40 AM, Anthony Christifor Neil, a 24 year old, Black Male, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF). Neil was wanted by the Winston Salem Police Department (WSPD) for Felony Child Abuse. According to the warrant, Neil unlawfully, willfully and feloniously did intentionally inflict serious bodily injury to his 18 day old juvenile son which resulted in fractures of the upper and lower right leg, lower left leg and two left rib fractures.

The JFTF developed information that Neil was residing at 202 Rice Street in Lexington. Members of the JFTF conducted surveillance and eventually surrounded the residence. Neil was taken into custody without incident. Neil was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center is being held under a bond.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
