Burlington, VT -- The U.S. Marshals Service Vermont Violent
Offender Task Force (VVOTF) arrested a Vermont fugitive who was wanted for a
several offenses, to include, Assault and Robbery with a Weapon, Aggravated
Assault with a Weapon, Burglary, Assault and Robbery with Injury and Domestic
Assault.
Rashad Sabree, 34, of Boston, Massachusetts was arrested in
the mid-afternoon hours on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts
when located by Deputy U.S. Marshals. Sabree, who has a lengthy criminal record
in Florida and Massachusetts, was charged with Domestic Assault and Assault and
Robbery with injury in June 2013 by the Burlington Police Department. An arrest
warrant was issued for Sabree’s arrest shortly after the incident when the
Burlington Police Department was unable to locate Sabree.
In December 2013, Sabree was charged by the Burlington
Police Department with Assault and Robbery with a Weapon, Aggravated Assault
with a Weapon and Burglary. At the time of this incident in December, Sabree
was still wanted for the warrants that pertained to his June charges in Vermont
as well.
In December 2013, the Burlington Police Department contacted
the U.S. Marshals seeking assistance in locating Sabree, as his whereabouts
were unknown.
After an extensive investigation, the U.S. Marshals Service
located and arrested Sabree in Boston, Massachusetts on October 1, 2014, ending
Sabree’s year and half flight from justice.
Sabree will be seen as a fugitive from justice in Boston,
Massachusetts before being extradited back to Vermont. Sabree’s arrest was a
result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals VVOTF and
the U.S. Marshal Service in Boston, Massachusetts.
