St. Louis County Man Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison on Federal Drug & Weapons Charges




St. Louis, MO — Demetrius McCalister was sentenced to 144 months in prison on drug and weapons charges involving the shooting of a man during a struggle over the purchase of a ½ pound of marijuana.

McCalister, 20, North St. Louis County pled guilty in April to one felony count each of being a felon in possession of ammunition, one felony count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. He appeared today for sentencing before United States District Judge Jean C. Hamilton.

This case was investigated by the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Office, St. Louis County Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. Assistant United States Attorney Michael Reilly handled the case for the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
