Armed Robbery of New Mexico Bank & Trust Branch in Santa Fe

The FBI and Santa Fe Police Department are looking for a man who used a handgun to rob New Mexico Bank & Trust, 1549 Paseo de Peralta, on Wednesday (02/15/2012).

The suspect wore a dark ski mask, black or gray hoodie, and gloves.

He is described as white or Hispanic, approximately 5’8” tall and 120-150 pounds, with a slender build. His eyes were brown.

Witnesses say the suspect entered the bank at approximately noon and brandished a handgun.

He left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Authorities are investigating whether this crime could be connected to the bank robbery of Century Bank, 1790 St. Michael’s Dr., in Santa Fe, on January 26.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and the penalty increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Albuquerque FBI Office at (505) 889-1300 (24 hours) or Santa Fe Police Department (505) 955-5033.
