Today, the FBI is launching a multi-state digital billboard campaign to assist in locating and apprehending a suspect responsible for multiple armed robberies in several states.
JAMES LOUIS WHITTLESEY is wanted for a 10/14/2011 armed robbery of a United Bank in Winchester, Virginia, and has been charged with aggravated bank robbery, in addition to a state charge of attempted capital murder of a police officer. In addition to the 10/14/2011 armed robbery in Winchester, WHITTLESEY has also been identified as a suspect in a number of additional armed robberies, including three in central Pennsylvania and one in Delaware.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in locating WHITTLESEY, and are urged to call the FBI’s tip-line at 1-800 CALL FBI or 1-800-225-5324 to report any information.
WHITTLESEY is described as a white male, 5’11” tall, roughly 200 pounds, with gray/black hair and brown eyes.
