Weehawken Bank Robber May Be in Florida

NEWARK, NJ—The Newark Division of the FBI is requesting the assistance of the public in locating alleged bank robber AUGUSTO PEREZ.

On Monday, February 28, 2011, the TD Bank located at
200 Park Avenue
, in Weehawken, New Jersey, was robbed by a lone male with a semi-automatic handgun. The man also robbed a customer within the bank. He fled on foot. No one was injured in the robbery. Agents subsequently identified the bank robber as AUGUSTO PEREZ.

Agents in the FBI’s Newark Division have reason to believe PEREZ is currently in Florida in either the Hialeah section of Miami or the Orlando area. Newark agents are coordinating their efforts with agents in those territories.

AUGUSTO PEREZ is described as follows:

Race: White/Hispanic
Gender: Male
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 150 lbs/medium build
Age: 61
Clothing: Wearing a black jacket, baseball cap, and sunglasses.
