U.S. Marshals Arrest Fugitive David Browder

Columbia, SC – David Scott Browder of Lexington, SC was arrested by the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force in West Palm Beach, FL. Browder was wanted by the SC U.S. Marshals Service for Failure to Appear for Trial on November 2nd, 2009. Browder is charged with: Felon in Possession of a Weapon, Possession with intent to Distribute and Distribution of Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime, and Failure to Appear as required by conditions of bond. Browder faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment if convicted at trial.

Information obtained by Operation Intercept Fugitive Task Force in Columbia, SC led Deputy U.S. Marshals to the West Palm Beach, FL area. Browder was observed driving a black Mercedes-Benz in the West Executive Drive area of West Palm Beach, FL. Florida Task Force Officers and Deputy U.S. Marshals conducted surveillance on the vehicle upon initiating a traffic stop Browder fled into a wooded area on foot attempting to evade apprehension. An immediate perimeter was established and Browder was later taken into custody by Deputy U.S. Marshals without incident. Browder has been taken to Palm Beach County Jail where he awaits Federal Court Proceedings.

U.S. Marshal Kelvin Washington from the Columbia, SC office stated “The joint efforts of all law enforcement involved have led to another SC fugitive being brought to justice. Browder will have to return to Columbia and to face the charges he allegedly committed.”
