Joseph DiFalco, 31 years of age, of Philadelphia , was arrested earlier today without incident by special agents of the FBI, deputy marshals from the United States Marshals Service, and police officers from the Philadelphia Police Department’s Highway Patrol Unit.
At 9:35 a.m., a subject later identified as DiFalco robbed the Royal Bank branch at 6331 Castor Avenue . Investigation by the FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department led law enforcement to the 3100 Block of Kensington Avenue, where DiFalco was arrested. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Federal Magistrate Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.
DiFalco was the subject of an intense manhunt by law enforcement in connection with the robberies of the Wachovia Bank branch at 2227 South Broad Street on 7/23/2010, the Citizens Bank branch at 10650 Bustleton Avenue on 7/26/2010, the Conestoga Bank branch at 2444 South Broad Street on 8/2/2010, the CitiBank branch 2118 Cottman Avenue on 8/14/2010, the M&T Bank branch at 7121 Frankford Avenue on 9/2/2010, and today’s robbery of the Royal Bank branch at 6331 Castor Avenue.
