FBI Announces Reward for Arrest of 'Sundown Bandits'

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $40,000 for information that will lead to the arrest of the "Sundown Bandits," two individuals who are believed to be responsible for six bank robberies in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties.

The locations and dates of the robberies are as follows:

Fifth Third Bank, 199 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL, 12/24/2009

City County Credit Union, 801 NW 99 Ave, Pembroke Pines, FL, 3/4/2010

City County Credit Union,
14469 Miramar Parkway, Miramar, FL
, 4/23/2010

People’s Credit Union, 1800 West 49 Street, Hialeah, FL, 5/22/2010

Coconut Grove Bank,
6400 South Dixie Highway, South Miami, FL
, 8/27/10

Wachovia Bank,
7009 Beracasa Way, Boca Raton, FL
, 9/9/10

The Sundown Bandits typically enter the bank with both robbers brandishing firearms. One robber will jump the teller counter while the other robber controls the lobby area. After taking money from the teller drawers, they will demand to get into the vault. After taking money from the vault, they leave the bank.

The robbers are black males, about 25-30 years of age. Both typically have some kind of head covering—in most robberies they have worn baseball caps. The robbers vary their style in dress to include long sleeve shirts and neck ties.

If anyone has information as to the identity of the Sundown Bandits, they are urged to call the FBI at (305) 944-9101.

THESE INDIVIDUALS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS.
