Las Vegas, NV - David R. Mason, 37, a fugitive wanted in
California by the California Department of Corrections was arrested this
morning in Las Vegas by the United States Marshals led Sex Offender Predator
Apprehension Team/Task Force. A warrant was issued charging Mason with Parole
Violation. The charges stem from an original charge of Lewd and Lascivious Act
with a Child Under 14.
The U.S. Marshals received information from California that
Mason fled to Las Vegas. Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers made
contact with MASON at the 900 block of Sierra Vista Drive, where he was taken
into custody. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center pending his
extradition to California.
District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye stated,
“This is yet another example of how our joint agency efforts are apprehending
fugitives who think they can hide in our valley.”
The Sex Offender Predator Apprehension Team is a permanent
task force that brings together the resources and expertise of state, local,
and federal agencies in a coordinated effort to arrest dangerous and violent
fugitives. The Sex Offender Predator Apprehension Team is led by the United
States Marshals Service and is comprised of Deputy U.S. Marshals and Detectives
from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
