Wanted California Parolee Arrested In Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV - David R. Mason, 37, a fugitive wanted in California by the California Department of Corrections was arrested this morning in Las Vegas by the United States Marshals led Sex Offender Predator Apprehension Team/Task Force. A warrant was issued charging Mason with Parole Violation. The charges stem from an original charge of Lewd and Lascivious Act with a Child Under 14.

The U.S. Marshals received information from California that Mason fled to Las Vegas. Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers made contact with MASON at the 900 block of Sierra Vista Drive, where he was taken into custody. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center pending his extradition to California.

District of Nevada U.S. Marshal Christopher Hoye stated, “This is yet another example of how our joint agency efforts are apprehending fugitives who think they can hide in our valley.”

The Sex Offender Predator Apprehension Team is a permanent task force that brings together the resources and expertise of state, local, and federal agencies in a coordinated effort to arrest dangerous and violent fugitives. The Sex Offender Predator Apprehension Team is led by the United States Marshals Service and is comprised of Deputy U.S. Marshals and Detectives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
