A 15-count indictment was filed in federal court charging a
Toledo man with trafficking heroin, cocaine and fentanyl analogues.
Grant Black, 24, was charged with eight counts of possession
with intent to distribute and seven counts of drug trafficking.
Black possessed fentanyl analogues, cocaine, heroin,
oxycodone and amphetamine on Aug. 11, 2017. He also sold fentanyl analogues and
heroin several times in June and July 2017, according to the indictment.
If convicted, the defendant's sentence will be determined by
the Court after reviewing factors unique to this case, including the
defendant's prior criminal record, if any, the defendant's role in the offense
and the characteristics of the violation.
In all cases the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and in
most cases it will be less than the maximum.
This case was investigated by the FBI and Toledo Police
Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Freeeman.
An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of
guilt. The burden of proof is always on
the government to prove a defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
