U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Two Suspects Charged With Violent Assaults



York, PA - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Tyrone Summerville - a 35-year old man and Jerimell Johnson – a 36 year old man in York.

The York City Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Summerville with strangulation, simple assault and harassment for an incident occurring on February 21, 2017. US Marshals and members of its task force located and arrested Summerville earlier today in the 700 block of East Clark Ave in York. A weapon was recovered at the scene of arrest. Summerville was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings.

On January 15, 2017 the York City Police Department responded to a domestic sexual assault report. It is alleged that Johnson assaulted his victim both physically and sexually. On February 27, 2017 a warrant was issued for Johnson charging him with aggravated indecent assault – forcible compulsion, indecent assault – forcible compulsion, simple assault and aggravated assault. US Marshals and members of its task force arrested Johnson in the 100 block of West Jackson St in York earlier today without incident. Johnson was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service and our task force partners recognize the importance of cooperation between federal, state and local police agencies – especially when searching for fugitives wanted for violent crimes. It is my sincere hope that these arrests bring some sense of comfort to the victims.”

The USMS worked jointly in these investigations with personnel from the York City Police Department, York County Sheriff’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole and the Harrisburg Bureau of Police.
