Task Force Arrests Burlington Parole Violator



Burlington, VA - The U.S. Marshals Service, Vermont Violent Offender Task Force (VVOTF) arrested a fugitive with two arrest warrants, including a Violation of Parole.

Richard Santini, 51, of Burlington, Vermont was arrested today in Milton when confronted by Deputy U.S. Marshals and members of the Vermont Violent Offender Task Force. Santini was wanted by the State of Vermont Department of Corrections, Probation and Parole, for Violation of his Parole. Mr. Santini was also wanted by the Burlington Police Department on a Simple Assault charge.

On July 14, 2015, the Vermont Parole Board issued an arrest warrant for Santini, claiming that he violated the terms of his parole. Santini was on parole for a list of crimes, including Simple Assault, Petit Larceny, 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault, and Escape from Furlough. Shortly after the arrest warrant was issued, on July 24, 2015, the Chittenden County Superior Court, Criminal Division issued an arrest warrant for Santini, stemming from a Burlington Police Department investigation. The investigation alleged that Santini committed the crime of Simple Assault.

On October 21, 2015, the Burlington Police Department sought the assistance of the VVOTF in locating and arresting Santini, as his whereabouts were unknown.

Over the course of the investigation, the VVOTF developed information on Santini’s whereabouts and on November 4, 2015, the VVOTF located and arrested Santini in Milton, Vermont.

Santini was transported to the Chittenden County Superior Court to be seen on the Burlington Police Department arrest warrant and will later be transferred to the Northwest State Correctional Facility on his parole warrant. This arrest was a result of a culmination of investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals VVOTF, the Burlington Police Department, and the Vermont State Police.
