The Department of Criminal Justice
Services is proud to announce “Partnering
to Protect: Law Enforcement and Security Services Protecting our Communities”,
a joint partnership with the Virginia State Crime Clinic. This year’s 48th Annual State
Crime Clinic Training Conference will be held at Sheraton Norfolk
Waterside Hotel in Norfolk, Virginia, from Wednesday, September 18, 2013 to
Friday, September 20, 2013.
The purpose of this conference is to
build cohesion and partnerships between law enforcement agencies and private
security services providing critical services to our constituencies. Building
upon past conferences and trainings, this joint venture will highlight a
variety of pertinent and highly relevant topics delivered by exceptional
trainers from across the Commonwealth and nation. Do not miss this excellent
opportunity to experience firsthand how law enforcement and private security
can join forces in an effort to make our communities safer. With so many different acts of crime and
terrorism impacting our communities on a daily basis, now is a critical time to
improve collaboration.

Intended Audience
This conference is intended for law
enforcement officers and those working in the security industry.
Partial In-service Credit
Partial
in-service credit for law enforcement officers, campus security officers and
private security is available. Legal and cultural diversity credit will also be
available.
Cost
The conference pre-registration fee of $100.00 per
person with a bonus [any department or company that has 4 attendees, the 5th
will be free] has been extended until Friday, August 30, 2013. After
August 30, 2013, the registration fee will be $125.00 per person and no
discount. Cut-off date for registration is September 6, 2013. There will be no
on-site registration.
Spouses and other special guests of paid conference participants may attend the
banquet for a $30.00 fee per person paid at the time of registration. While
other payment methods are available, DCJS prefers that you pay for your
registration with a credit card at the time of registration. No
registrations will be accepted by mail.
This
fee includes conference materials, break service and a welcome reception on
Wednesday evening, a continental breakfast and dinner banquet on Thursday, and
continental breakfast on Friday morning.
