ATF Offers Reward in Officer Shooting

ATF, Detroit Police Seek Information in Shooting of Wayne State University Officer

DETROIT — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Detroit Field Division in conjunction with the Detroit Police Department announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the conviction of any persons involved in the shooting of a Wayne State University officer.

On Nov. 23, at approximately 6:45 p.m., Officer Collin Rose with the Wayne State University police department was conducting an investigation off campus when he suffered a gunshot wound to the head. After a massive manhunt, in which ATF agents assisted, a suspect was taken into custody. However, the weapon used in the crime has yet to be recovered.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the officer and his family,” said Special Agent in Charge Robin Shoemaker. “ATF stands with local law enforcement in bringing the person responsible for the senseless shooting of one of Detroit’s heroes to justice.”
