Fugitive Tried to Hide but Captured by Task Force

Suspect Facing Homicide Charge

San Antonio, TX - Alfred Angel Eslora, 26, was arrested today by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) in Pleasanton, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to an investigation by the San Antonio Police Department Homicide Unit (SAPD), where it is alleged that Eslora committed homicide. Eslora also had unrelated arrest warrants involving felon in possession of a firearm, assault, and DWI.

On December 21, 2015, members of the LSFTF initiated an investigation in locating and apprehending Eslora. Today, through investigative efforts and extensive surveillance, task force officers located Eslora hiding out in a residence located in the 400 block of Cactus Road, on the north side of Pleasanton, TX. Task force officers entered the residence, identified themselves, made contact with Eslora, and took him into custody without incident. Task force officers also arrested Jesse James Leal, 39, for having unrelated warrants involving aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and parole violation for manslaughter.

On December 20, 2015, Eslora allegedly shot and killed a man in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 400 block of Montrose Street, in San Antonio. Reports stated that Eslora and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation that quickly escalated to a fist fight and later resulted in Eslora pulling out a handgun and shooting the victim multiple times. Eslora immediately fled on foot before police officers arrived and the victim died at the scene. After a thorough investigation by SAPD Homicide detectives, a warrant was issued for Eslora’s arrest and Crime Stoppers offered a $5,000 reward for information leading his arrest.

Eslora is currently being held in custody at the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, stated, “Eslora tried to run, tried to hide, and tried to avoid being captured, but our task force officers are phenomenal at what they do…find fugitives and put them in jail.”
