U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Pennsylvania Rape Suspect in Maryland



Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin Pane announced the arrest William Fogle, a 30-year old man, charged with rape and other related offenses.

On February 23, 2015, the Carlisle Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Fogle with rape forcible compulsion, aggravated indecent assault without consent, sexual assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint, recklessly endangering, indecent assault without consent and theft. The Carlisle Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force in locating and apprehending Fogle.

The USMS Fugitive Task Force acted swiftly and was able to develop information that Fogle may be in Maryland. An investigative lead was sent to the USMS Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF) in Maryland to assist in locating Fogle. On February 24, Fogle was arrested in Maryland by members of CARFTF and turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings in the case.

United States Marshal Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals Service recognizes that it is important to bring those charged with serious sex crimes to justice as quickly as possible. We give these type cases our utmost attention.”

The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with officers from Carlisle Police Department, CARFTF and the Maryland State Police.
