Federal Inmate Enters Plea and is Sentenced in Federal Court

CLARKSBURG, WV—An FCI Gilmer inmate entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced on January 11, 2012, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: JEFFREY JENKINS, age 42, entered a plea of guilty to one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with intent to do bodily harm on June 18, 2010, when JENKINS stabbed another inmate multiple times with a prison made knife a/k/a “shank.” The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his head, neck and upper torso. JENKINS was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment to be served consecutively with his current 120-month sentence.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brandon S. Flower and was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Special Investigative Services at FCI Gilmer.
