SEATTLE — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, announced a reward today for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible for the May 6 burglary of Big 5 Sporting Goods in the 5700 block of 100th St. SW, Lakewood, Wash., in which three rifles and several boxes of ammunition were taken.
The Lakewood Police Department and ATF are investigating the burglary, in which one suspect broke into the business through the roof then met with another suspect on his departure from the building. Both then immediately departed together in a four-door crossover SUV-type vehicle.
ATF is offering up to $1,500 and the NSSF is matching the reward for a total of up to a $3,000 reward. Crime Stoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County is also offering a $1,000 reward. Pictures of the suspects are available at the Crimestoppers website at http://www.tpcrimestoppers.com/case.php?id=1621
