Fort Myers, Florida – U.S. District Judge John E. Steele
today sentenced Kenneth Christian Javi Garcia (24, Fort Myers) to six years in
federal prison for distribution of child pornography. The court also ordered
Javi Garcia to forfeit his computer, which was used to commit the offense.
Javi Garcia pleaded guilty on September 28, 2018.
According to court documents, between August 30, 2017, and
September 20, 2017, the FBI was able to directly connect to Javi Garcia’s
computer and download approximately 200 files containing depictions of child
pornography. On November 14, 2017, a search warrant was executed at Javi
Garcia’s residence, where his computer was located and seized. A subsequent
forensic analysis of the computer revealed approximately 450 videos of child
pornography, with created file dates ranging from February 2016 through October
2017.
This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of
Investigation’s Innocent Images Task Force, which includes law enforcement from
the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the
Sarasota Police Department, and the Bradenton Police Department. It was
prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Yolande G. Viacava.
