New Emergency Exercises Package for Emergency Preparedness Training

To support school and higher education capacity building and planning efforts, the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Safe and Healthy Students' Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Technical Assistance Center has developed a new emergency exercises package designed to help K-12 schools and school districts strengthen their emergency operations plans and identify gaps and weaknesses. The package aligns with the federally recommended focus on threat- and hazard-specific planning, featuring an emphasis on infectious disease outbreaks and power outages. Go to https://rems.ed.gov/TrainingPackage.aspx and scroll to Supplemental Exercise and Training Packages to download the package.
