Information from IACP Net

IACP Net is an online information network that provides law enforcement leaders with resources, tools and a large library of publications and data. New items available from IACP Net include:
  • Survey: Unmanned Aircraft Systems. IACP Net is offering a short, informal survey on law enforcement use of unmanned aircraft systems: How would you describe your department's use of unmanned aircraft systems? Do you currently operate them? Considering for future use? To participate in this informal survey, go to https://www.iacpnet.com/iacpnet/
Article on Problem-Oriented Policing. Also available through IACP Net is an article on "Problem-Oriented Policing as a Form of Translational Criminology." This article, which appears in the Spring 2017 issue of Translational Criminology, the magazine of the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy, points out that problem-oriented policing can be understood as an application of translational criminology that bridges the gap between researchers and practitioners. The article discusses how the finalist projects of the 2016 Herman Goldstein Awards for Excellence in Problem-Oriented Policing are examples of research applied to police practices. The award is administered by the Center for Problem-Oriented Policing.
