Memphis, TN - Unterio Anderson was arrested in Jacksonville,
Florida. He fled the Memphis area but was unable to elude U.S. Marshal Task
Forces.
Warrants were issued for Anderson on 1-1-14 by the Memphis
Police Department for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping,
Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Robbery, Especially Aggravated Kidnapping and
Especially Aggravated Robbery. The case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Gulf
Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force on 1-2-14.
On 2-7-14 investigators determined that the fugitive was
hiding in a Motel in Jacksonville, Florida. The U.S. Marshals South East
Regional Fugitive Task Force and Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force
were contacted and they located the fugitive in his motel room. When he refused
to open his door, his window was broken in so entry could be made. He was then
taken into custody.
At the time of this press release Anderson is in
Jacksonville Florida County Jail awaiting extradition.
The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force
(GCRFTF) is a multi-agency task force with divisions in Tennessee, Alabama,
Mississippi and Louisiana. The Western Tennessee Division of the GCRFTF has
offices in Memphis and Jackson, and its membership is primarily composed of
Deputy U.S. Marshals, Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies, Memphis Police
Officers, Madison County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jackson Police Officers, and the
Tennessee Department of Corrections Special Agents. The primary mission of the
Task Force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
