Mississippi Fugitive Captured

Savannah, GA – A Mississippi man wanted on failure to appear charges for Aggravated Assault with a knife was arrested by the United States Marshals Service Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force on August 30, 2012.

Domieko Deonta Eubanks, 18, is wanted by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department in Starkville, Mississippi for failure to appear on an Aggravated Assault with a knife charge stemming from 2011 incident. Eubanks was to appear in court to answer these charges in May of 2012 and failed to appear. The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals in Mississippi, to locate and arrest Eubanks. Eubanks was known to live with his mother and Mississippi Marshals tracked his mother from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Savannah, Georgia. On August 28, 2012, the Mississippi Marshals’ Office contacted the Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force for assistance in locating Eubanks. On August 30, 2012, members of the Marshals task force went to an address on Clars Avenue in Savannah, Georgia and found Eubanks. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Chatham County Detention Center to await extradition proceedings to return him to Mississippi.

Chatham County Fugitive Captured in Texas

Savannah, GA – A Savannah man wanted for Aggravated Child Molestation and 2 counts of False Statements and Writings was arrested by the United States Marshals Service Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force in Sulphur Springs, Texas on March 8, 2012.

Dionte Thomas, 28, was wanted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department after Thomas failed to appear in court in Savannah, Georgia. The original charges stemmed from a Pooler, Georgia incident where he was charged in June of 2010. After Thomas was indicted by the March 2011, Grand Jury, the case was turned over the Savannah Office of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. An investigation conducted by Task Force Officer Andrew Staley lead investigators to believe that Thomas was in Texas. Leads were sent to Texas in July 2011 and he was arrested by the Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force. Thomas was extradited back to Savannah, Georgia in August 2011. After approximately a month in jail, Thomas was released on bond. The investigation revealed that Thomas left the Savannah area and possibly went back to Texas. Thomas was also supposed to wear a leg monitor so authorities could monitor his whereabouts and he never got the monitor. On October 25, 2011, Thomas was supposed to appear in court in Chatham County and failed to appear in court. TFO Staley again sent leads to Texas to locate and arrest Thomas. At the time of the first arrest Thomas was living with his girlfriend at 201 W. Spence Street in Sulfur Springs, Texas. The Texas Task Force found a new address for the girlfriend as she had moved since the July arrest. The Texas Task Force went to the new address of 20 Houston Drive, Sulphur Springs, Texas and found Thomas. Thomas was arrested without incident. Another fugitive is now off the street. Thomas is awaiting extradition back to Georgia. Those charged with sex offenses, especially involving a child are a high priority for the Marshals Service.

Savannah Murder Suspect Captured

Savannah, GA – A Savannah man wanted for Murder was arrested by the United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Atlanta, Georgia on October 31, 2011.

Akeem Johnson, 28, was wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) for the offense of Murder that occurred on October 8, 2011 at MLK and Congress Streets. Johnson allegedly shot at a car and struck a man in the car. SCMPD identified Akeem Johnson as the suspect in the shooting and warrants were issued. The case was referred to the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Johnson.

An intensive investigation was initiated by the Marshals Task Force in the Savannah and surrounding area. The Marshals determined that Johnson had fled the area and could possibly be in the Statesboro , Georgia or Atlanta, Georgia area. The Statesboro, Georgia area information was generated from a previous arrest of Johnson by the Marshals Task Force for a Robbery charge in 2008. The Savannah Marshals Task Force generated information that Johnson was more likely in the Atlanta, Georgia area and forwarded the information to the Atlanta Office of the Southeast Regional Task Force. With the information provided, the Atlanta Task Force began their investigation which lead them to an address in Atlanta, Georgia, where Johnson was arrested today without incident. Johnson was taken to the Fulton County jail and will await transfer back to Savannah.

Fugitive Captured

Savannah, GA – A Rincon man wanted on sixteen warrants by four departments was arrested by the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) on August 11, 2011 in Savannah, Georgia.

Aaron Craig Hubbard, 23, was being sought on two warrants from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Department for Sale of Cocaine and Unlawful Use of Communication Facilities. Hubbard was also being sought on a warrant by the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles for parole violation based on the Effingham County charges as well as absconding from supervision. He was on parole for a 2008 weapon and drug charge. Hubbard was being sought on twelve warrants by the Port Wentworth Police Department for the following offenses to include: Aggravated assault on a Police Officer, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Carrying a concealed weapon, Theft by receiving stolen property, Criminal damage to property first degree, misdemeanor and felony obstruction, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Interference with government property, felony fleeing and eluding, loitering and prowling, and criminal trespass. Hubbard was also wanted by SCMPD for the offense of theft by taking motor vehicle. All of these charges happened in various incidents in a four month time frame from March to July of 2011.

The case was referred to the Savannah Office of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in July 2011. The Savannah Task Force conducted an extensive investigation over the last three and a half weeks to find Hubbard. Numerous leads were generated by the Marshals Task Force. The Task Force received information that Hubbard was possibly at a home on Sherwood Court in Rincon, Georgia on July 8, 2011. The Marshals Task Force with the assistance of the Effingham County Drug Squad went to the address and Hubbard was not there. The Marshals Task Force worked tirelessly to locate Hubbard and received information that he was possibly at a home in the 1100 block of Springfield Street located off Stiles Avenue on Savannah’s westside. On August 11, 2011, with the assistance of SCMPD patrol units, the Marshals Task Force went to the address and found Hubbard. Hubbard was arrested without incident. There were two other males in the home. One of the other males, Marlon Hayes, was also arrested on an unrelated outstanding SCMPD warrant for Contempt of Court for Failure to appear. Both men were taken to the Chatham County Detention Center.

Savannah Fugitive Captured

Savannah, GA – A fugitive wanted in Savannah, Georgia was arrested by the United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force March 8, 2011.

Gary Michael Johnson, 21, was wanted by the Savannah Chatham Metro Police Department on various charges including Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Carrying a concealed weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, False Name and Escape. Johnson had been arrested on November 24, 2010 on the above charges and when he was transported to the jail was somehow able to escape custody and make it out of the sallyport area of the jail. Johnson fled into the woods and a massive manhunt ensued to capture him.

The case was referred to the U.S. Marshals Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Johnson. On March 7, 2011, Task Force officers generated information that Johnson was at an address in Nicholls, Georgia, approximately two hours southwest of Savannah, Georgia. On March 8, 2011, Marshals Task Force officers traveled to Nicholls, Georgia where they arrested Johnson without incident. Johnson was taken to the Coffee County Jail to await transfer back to Savannah, Georgia

Savannah Fugitive Suspect Captured

Savannah, GA – A fugitive wanted by three local agencies was arrested by the United States Marshals Service Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) K-9 on January 6, 2011.

Deontray Rashard “Rocky” Bryant, 28, was wanted by the SCMPD for the offense of kidnapping. Bryant was also wanted by the Garden City Police Department on multiple warrants for Aggravated Assault with a gun, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a crime and Criminal Trespass. In addition to those charges, Bryant was wanted by the Chatham County Sheriff’s Department for Probation Violation with his original charge being burglary. These charges arose from incidents that happened in October and November of 2010.

The case was referred to the United States Marshals Service Savannah Office of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force to locate and arrest Bryant. An extensive investigation was conducted by the Marshals Task Force and numerous leads were worked to try and find Bryant. In the course of the investigation the Marshals Task Force determined that Bryant had fled the Savannah, Georgia area and was in the Augusta, Georgia area. On January 6, 2011, the Marshals Fugitive Task Force received information that placed Bryant in a house at

in Savannah, Georgia. With the assistance of a SCMPD K-9 Unit, Marshals Task Force members converged on the

address. The house was surrounded and after numerous attempts to get someone to answer the front door, a female finally opened the door and Bryant was arrested in the bathroom area of the home. Bryant was arrested without incident and transported to the SCMPD Headquarters at the request of detectives.
