Berkeley County man admits to drug conspiracy

 MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – Orville Darby, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, has admitted to drug distribution, Acting United States Attorney Randolph J. Bernard announced.
 
Darby, age 35, pled guilty to one count of “Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute Heroin, Cocaine Hydrochloride and Cocaine Base.” Darby admitted to working with others to distribute heroin, cocaine hydrochloride, and cocaine base from February 2019 to June 2019 in Berkeley County and elsewhere.

Darby faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey A. Finucane is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration investigated. 

U.S. Magistrate Judge Robert W. Trumble presided.
