Searching for Suspect Who Robbed First Tennessee Bank Branch in Knoxville

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief David Rausch of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed the First Tennessee Bank today. The suspect is believed to be the same individual who robbed the First People’s Bank located at 7100 Kingston Pike on January 23, 2012.

At approximately 4:12 p.m., the suspect entered the First Tennessee Bank located at 1815 Downtown West Boulevard, Knoxville, Tennessee, brandished a black, semi-automatic handgun, and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his early to mid 40s, approximately 5’10” to 6’0” tall, weighing approximately 150 to 160 pounds, with a thin build and with dark, short hair. The suspect was wearing a blue, hooded sweatshirt with “Crestridge” written in white on the front, dark blue athletic pants, and a gray cap with a snap on the brim. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the scene.

A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to please call the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751 or KPD at 865-215-7212. This matter is being jointly investigated by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (which includes personnel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO) and the KPD Major Crimes Unit. All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
