Albuquerque Bank Robbery Arrest

A Mexican national has been arrested in connection with this morning’s armed robbery of Bank of the West,

1422 Carlisle Blvd NE

, near

Constitution Avenue NE.

Edwin Vismar Urena-Hernandez, 24, was arrested shortly after the 10:07 a.m. robbery.

Urena-Hernandez was driving a Ford Escape SUV when Albuquerque police arrested him at the intersection of

Pennsylvania Street NE

and

Menaul Boulevard NE.

A handgun and evidence from the bank robbery were found.

Witnesses say a Hispanic male walked into the bank and displayed a handgun. He left with an undisclosed amount of money. Nobody was injured.

Urena-Hernandez is scheduled to have an initial appearance in U.S. District Court on Friday morning.
