Fugitive is Linked to Two Pearland Bank Robberies

Tips from the public have helped investigators identify and charge the man responsible for robbing the First Convenience Bank located at 7121 West Broadway in Pearland, Texas on March 5, 2012. Now, the FBI and Pearland Police need your help locating fugitive Carlos Tyrone Hines.

Hines is charged with aggravated robbery in Brazoria County, Texas. He is wanted for a parole violation in Harris County, Texas. Hines is also wanted for questioning in connection with the robbery of the Associated Credit Union of Texas (ACU Texas) Credit Union on February 29, 2012. A Texas Department of Public Safety driver’s license photograph and photographs from both robberies can be viewed below.

During the robbery of the First Convenience Bank, it is alleged that Hines walked up to the counter and handed a teller a letter-sized manila envelope. He told the teller to fill the envelope with cash. While threatening the teller that she was being watched, he lifted his shirt to reveal a pistol packed in his waistband. No one was physically hurt during either robbery.

Hines goes by Carlos Hines. He is a black male, 51 years old, 5’10” tall, and weighs approximately 240 pounds. He typically wears his hair shaved, and he has a dark colored mark under his left eye. His last known residence was in Pearland, Texas. Investigators believe he may be hiding out in the Pearland or Southeast Houston areas of Texas.
